The Chairman and Executive Committee of the Army Swimming Union are delighted to announce the appointment of WO2 (AQMS) Luke Illingworth REME, as Team Manager Army Water Polo.

Luke brings huge playing and management experience to Army Water Polo and takes over at a time when Army Water Polo is as successful as ever it has been – both at Inter-Services level and in the National Water Polo League.  The Chairman, Brigadier Doug Gibson said: ‘Luke is a perfect fit for this important job.  He is well known and respected in the Water Polo circuit and I know that he will bring huge energy and expertise to the role and take every opportunity to lead the team to even greater success.’

Luke takes over the reigns from Major Scott Robinson who has grown Army Water Polo over the last decade into a truly remarkable success story – gaining successive promotions in the National League over the last two seasons.  Brigadier Doug said: ‘I thank Scott for all selfless commitment, endless enthusiasm, skilful strategy, loyal friendship and sage advice; we wish him all the best and hope that he will never be too far away.’
