Army Tennis Coaching Opportunities

Army Tennis’ main effort for the next couple of years is to increase grassroots participation in the sport.

To achieve this, the aim is to be able to offer more tennis activity in decentralised locations to allow people who e.g. just want to try it out to go to their local courts and get involved, find people to play with and receive some coaching as well. To be able to offer such activity to a good standard and in a safe, compliant manner, Army Tennis is looking to generate a broad network of LTA qualified coaches which spans, as a minimum, all major garrison towns.

Army Tennis is able to fund prospective coaches through their coaching qualifications. In return for the funding, coaches will be required to deliver a certain amount of tennis activity, as will be detailed in a Return on Investment Agreement which will be signed before any funding is released. The costs for each qualification are detailed below, and may be covered by Army Tennis contribution, Standard Learning Credits (up to £175), Corps/ Regimental contribution, a personal contribution, or any combination thereof.

The course costs (without adjustment for other contributions) are:

Level 1 – £250

Level 2 – £425

Level 3 – £950
