On Thursday 28th September the ASCB held the Army Elite Athlete Support Briefing day in Aldershot.
It was fantastic for those new to the program to hear from soldiers who were supported last year, including Capt Alex Paske – Judo, WO1 Zoe Bruce – Rifle Shooting and Capt Jen Kehoe – Parasnowsport.
Other speakers included Maj Gen Shaun Burley CB MBE and Lt Col (Retd) Alan Billings of the ASCB. Mr. Lee Dyson of Army Sports Lottery on maximising grants from the ASL to compete internationally. Alex Wolf and Michael Knott from the English Institute of Sport, Sheffield on Strength and Conditioning Support. Colin Allen on the Talented Athlete Scholarship Scheme (TASS) and how and where #TASS will be delivered to those on the program.
Finally, Mr. John Donnelly Head of Sport Integrity with UK Sport closed the briefing and all guests were invited to view the Army Elite Sport stands in action in Fox Gym.
